Copyright and License

Minang Bioscience Journal (MBJ) is committed to promoting the open and wide dissemination of scientific knowledge. The journal allows authors to retain copyright of their published works while granting the journal the right to publish and disseminate the articles.

1. Copyright

Authors retain the copyright of their original work published in Minang Bioscience Journal (MBJ).

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant MBJ the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make the article publicly available through the journal's official platform and other appropriate scholarly dissemination channels.

Authors remain responsible for the content of their published articles, including the accuracy of the research, data, statements, and references.

2. Creative Commons License

All articles published by MBJ are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, readers and other users are permitted to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions are granted provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.

3. Attribution Requirement

Any person or organization using, reproducing, distributing, or adapting an article published by MBJ must provide appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and source.

Attribution should include, where applicable:

  • Author name(s);
  • Title of the article;
  • Minang Bioscience Journal (MBJ) as the original publication source;
  • Publication information;
  • DOI or permanent article link; and
  • A link to the CC BY 4.0 license.

Users should also clearly indicate if modifications have been made to the original work.

4. Author Rights

Authors retain the right to:

  • Share their published article;
  • Deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;

  • Reuse portions of the article in future scholarly works, provided appropriate acknowledgment is maintained; and
  • Grant additional non-exclusive permissions to others, provided that such permissions do not restrict the rights granted under the CC BY 4.0 license.

5. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all third-party materials included in their manuscripts, such as photographs, figures, tables, datasets, or other copyrighted materials, have appropriate permission for publication.

Third-party materials may be subject to copyright or licensing conditions that are different from the CC BY 4.0 license applied to the article as a whole.

6. Open Access and Reuse

MBJ supports unrestricted access to scientific knowledge. The CC BY 4.0 license allows published articles to be freely accessed, shared, reused, and adapted, provided that proper attribution is given to the original authors and publication source.
